"പൈക്ക" സാന്‍തോമിലും

PANCHAYAT YUVA KRIDA AUR KHEL ABHIYAN           The National Sports Policy 2001 lays special emphasis on “Broad-basing of Sports” through grassroots level sport activity and “Promoting Excellence in Sports” at the national and international levels. The major constraint in taking sport activity to the grassroots level is the very limited availability of basic sports infrastructure/ facilities in the country. Tenth Five Year Plan, which, while referring to thrust areas for the Plan, observed that, “there is an immediate need to create a network of basic sports infrastructure throughout the country” and ensure proper access to it “to enable more people to participate in sports thereby broadening our base for scouting of talent”.           The Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) aims at achieving the abovementioned objectives by providing basic sports infrastructure and equipment at the panchayat level and encouraging sports and games in rural areas through annual competitions at the block and district levels. എരുമേലി പ‍ഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡണ്ട് ശ്രീ. പി എ ഇര്‍ഷാദ്  പൈക്ക പദ്ധതിയുദ്ഘാടനവേളയില്‍ ശില അനാച്ഛാദനം ചെയ്യുന്നു           The PYKKA would be a joint effort between the Centre and the States and the funding would be on a 75-25 basis, with the Centre contributing the larger share. Depending on the size of the panchayat, there could be more than one PYKKA facility can be established.           Each village panchayat would be given Rs. 1 lakhs for each unit of 4600 population (on prorate basis) and each block panchayat would be Rs. 5 Lakh respectively as one-time seed capital grant for developing playgrounds. They would also be given additional funds as operational grant and acquisition grant.

Each block panchayat would be provided an annual                                                         competition grant of Rs. 50,000 for holding block-level competitions and Rs. 3 lakh for District-level competitions. Prize moneyfor block level and district-level competitions would also be given.

All the panchayat and blocks in the state will be covered according to the perspective plan within 9 years.

ഇക്കഴിഞ്ഞ SSLC പരീക്ഷയില്‍ എരുമേലി പഞ്ചായത്തില്‍ 100% വിജയം നേടിയ സ്കൂളുകളില്‍ഏററവും കൂടുതല്‍  കുട്ടികളെ പരീക്ഷയ്ക്കിരുത്തി വിജയിപ്പിച്ച് ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തിയ കണമല സാന്‍ തോം ഹൈസ്കൂളിനുവേണ്ടി മന്ത്രി ശ്രീ പാലോളി മുഹമ്മദുകുട്ടിയില്‍ നിന്നും ഹെഡ്മാസ്ററര്‍ ശ്രീ ജോസ് വര്‍ഗീസ് ട്രോഫി ഏററുവാങ്ങുന്നു.

Many Species...One Earth...One Future

From 9 am onwards our students were busy in pasting the various wall posters they prepared the previous day which depicted the importance of Environmental day celebrations. After having pasted the posters in the nook and corner of our vicinity they collected together at school campus. There started our public meeting at 10am. Our Headmaster Sri. Jose Varghese addressed the students and teachers. Then our young teacher Sri. Prince Mathew delivered a message. In his message he exhorted the audience to be eco-friendly and live a life in accordance with the rules of the nature, not spoiling the spirit of nature. Then a new comer, the 8th standard student Kumari Pretty Jacob shared her ideas on the occasion. She in her eloquent speech appealed the students to be tidy, clean and to keep our earth clean and green.

In the presence of the teachers and students , our headmaster planted a Mahagony seedling in the school campus. The students and teachers took the pledge to keep our surroundings green & clean for a bright future. Soon after this the students started to plant medicinal herbs they brought from their homes.
After lunch break, poetry writing, story writing and painting competitions were held in connection with the environmental day celebrations.
